Comtesse de Vazeilles Moulin-à-Vent Gamay 2014

My favorite Beaujolais estate. Tariffs have fucked me on this one but they will be back. Zero carbonic. Stunningly aromatic nose. Deep cherries, berries, spice and smoke. Floral, ethereal and deep. So layered. Amazingly complex. Smells like elite Burgundy. How is this estate not well known is beyond me. Likely the aspirational pricing. Palate is a dream. So juicy, nimble and complex. In a perfect place. So elegant and pure. Haunting. Volnay like. So fine and refined. Awesome red fruits that explode in the mouth. High class silky tannins and great structure. Very very long. — 7 days ago

des Hospices Moulin-à-Vent Gamay 2018

Very young! Approachable now but no rush and this will drink well for several more years. Definitely more of a fuller body and only 14% abv. BlackBerry, plum, earthy, and a slight mint on the palate. Very good now but in 2-5yrs this will be great! — a month ago

Château des Jacques

Moulin-A-Vent Gamay

2017 Very nice Gamay ready to drink. In the nose a moderate intense wine with overflowing red fruits in a beautiful cherry. In the mouth smooth tannins, full body and very rich stone fruits in a long and nice finish. The acidity can be improved within +- 5 years. — 6 days ago

Château Le Grand Moulin

Collection Grande Réserve Blaye Red Bordeaux Blend 2015

2018 vintage. Another spectacular value from the Côtes de Bordeaux, this time from Blaye. From 79 hectares of vines on sandy gravel soils. A blend of 80% Merlot, 15% Cabernet sauvignon and 5% Malbec. Again I feel sorry for owner Jean François Reaud that he has to sell such a good wine at silly prices (4,95 euro consumer price!). Even at twice the price it would be great value. Subtle nose with ripe black (blueberries, cassis) and red fruits (raspberry) with a subtle floral touch. The taste is amazingly elegant, the fruit is fresh and crisp, with a good soft tannic backbone, some complexity, moderate alcohol (abv. 13%) and very good length. Extraordinary value. Les Rouchaux Moulin-à-Vent Gamay 2015

A striking nose of dark fruits, leads to a pungent palate and high quality overall structure. It’s wild and untamed, tastes like some high quality wine making in a fairly extracted style. Provocative - could divide opinion. — 5 days ago

Chateau Du Moulin À Vent

Moulin-a-Vent Gamay 2015

Delectable Wine

The 2015 Moulin-à-Vent is a real showstopper. A burst of dark cherry, spice, leather, menthol, licorice and leather literally races out of the glass. The 2015 is an atypically rich Moulin-à-Vent, but all the elements are so well balanced. It has serious depth and the intensity to age for many years. I would not touch a bottle soon.
