Beautiful cuvée with age. Bottle bought 10 years ago and likely disgorged around 2010 or so.
Black cherries, liqueur tangerines, dried stone fruits, blackberries, mix of black raspberries/raspberries, rainier cherries, delicate but razor sharp chalkiness, limestone, sea spray, sea fossils, bread dough, baguette crust, soft wine spice, rainbow, floral bouquet, shape acidity, good tension, excellent structure & balance. The finish is elegant with power that lasts minutes. Excellent with Duck Confit, goat cheese with herbs.

A little bit of funk on the nose at first then a big bright cherry note takes the stage along with hay. The palate is very fruit forward with that big bright cherry note all over the place, a good width and a soft mouthfeel with an almost sweet, delicate layer on the sides. A nice tannins layer kicks in in mid palate with a drying veil over a long fruity finish. It's simple yet delicious. More of that! — 3 years ago

The 2021 Chêne Marchand is a powerful, long-lived style with masses of concentration inside a mid-weight package. There's a ripeness of almost tropical fruit alongside nectarines and a touch of green gooseberry. A light creamy flavor joins the fruit. It is impressive, structured and firm. This will go the distance. (Rebecca Gibb MW, Vinous, July 2023) — 9 months ago
