2006. Purchased a couple bottles at a Rosenthal wine dinner in 2014. Drank the first one in 2018 and really enjoyed it. Popped and poured this bottle to go with Pakistani Lamb Kebabs. Paired well, but was really only offering the savory side of its flavor profile. Two hours after dinner, the wine opened up and more tart red fruits filled in. Doesn’t really have the aged characteristics of an 18 year old wine. — 25 days ago

The 1999 Clos de la Roche VV pours a slightly hazy ruby color with a transparent core; medium viscosity with no staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with gorgeous notes of ripe red and black fruits: raspberry, bruised strawberry, black cherry, dried red flowers, licorice, mushroom, sous bois, all spice. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long and dripping with complexity. During the first couple hours, this was pretty locked up and willing to share its secrets. Towards the end of the night, this ended up being one of the wines what really started to pour it on. My favorite pairing with the boeuf Bourguignon. Drink now with some patience but better after 2029 and through 2049 with ease. — 11 days ago

When you see DRC on the label it’s difficult not to have preconceptions. The nose pops with red cherries ,stems and spice. The palate is hit with weighty red and black fruit which carries a healthy dose of acid. Surprisingly lacked the complexity and finish I was hoping for from a vintage like this let alone the producer. — 4 hours ago
