nutty, aged and some port like notes, 100% CH. creamy with bright acidity, some slight bitterness and funk. Oxidative and cider like but bright acid. Selosse. Delicate wine quite brown in color with pear, apple, and honey notes. 100% ML. 5g/l dosage. This wine grows on me definitely a winter wine for me. — 4 years ago
This is in a great place right now. These Ch. des Jacques wines and Carquelin in particular can be a little challenging to catch in the right spot as they show a lot of oak on release and a lot of tannin after that, and who knows how long they'll need to mature. This one isn't fully mature, but it's mature enough that the structure is mostly resolved, the oak is totally gone, the scents are earthy and savory, and the material is still sweet and sappy while having moved past primary/secondary fruit into intensely mineral territory. This is like a syrup of iron and granite and feels like it's at the start of a very long window of great drinking. — 9 years ago

Iight, balanced. Fruitiness( strawberry, lemon), however, not sweet. Very good for price paid. — 2 years ago
