A perfect bottle of ‘09 Charmes from the pristine cellar at Emeril’s, remarkably fresh and seamlessly balanced with both ripeness and definition, a voluminous texture with layered crystalline minerality, citrusy acids and a captivating almond-pastry cream bouquet. A turning point vintage for the Domaine. I don’t think anyone faired better. 2013 Perrieres while still young, is in an amazing spot, showing both richness and energy wafting spiced ripe yellow fruit, pastry cream and white flowers layered in stony minerality. The palate is full and expansive with fabulous density, focus, balanced acids and a long finish. White burg at its finest…And now these Diam corks (which began in this vintage) give aging Lafon peace of mind 😅 — 2 months ago

2014 vintage. Drinking as a more traditional St. Estèphe here vs lusher, newer vintages. In a great place currently and showing well. Not ridiculously expansive and otherworldly but doesn't need to be in the mid-$40's resto cost. Checks so many boxes. Leaner, chiseled and durty. Classic Stèphie. 1.30.25. — a month ago

Quite rich and big. Hint roasted hazelnuts meyer lemon. Clearly high quality juice. Some tannins. Hint orange juice. Touch pineapple. Overall lacks depth. Nice though but $$$. After shaken but not stirred and kept under my Argon line gained statue. — 4 months ago
