100% Gamay. High alcohol (14%), but nice balance and fruit. — a month ago
Nose has few day old lemon peel, wet river rocks, lightly oxidized apple, lanolin and beeswax.
Palate has dehydrated pear & apple slices, wet sandstone, neutral oak, somewhat dry on the finish makes for a unique St. Aubin experience.
I don't think this is past enjoyment, but might be on the down side of middle age. So much minerality on the palate, almost a fruitless wine. I'll be interested to see this bottle in a couple more years, luckily still a few bottles in the cellar. — 6 days ago
Nose reveals; sour lemons, green apple, golden apple, overripe pineapple, lime, tropical melons, dried mango, orange citrus with rind, candle wax, honeycomb, dark, gritty volcanics, sea fossils, white spice, crisp chalkiness, sandstone, dry stones, lemon pledge, some fresh herbs, vanillin, more woody notes than I’ve come to expect from Olivier, orange blossoms, yellow flowers/lilies framed in jasmine.
The body is rich, lush, gluey & full. High viscosity. Nice structure, tension, length and balance. Just a little more oak than I like on my White Burgundies. sour lemons, green apple, golden apple, overripe pineapple, lime candy/zest, tropical melons, dried mango, cream that evolves into cream brûlée late in the bottle, butterscotch as it fully opens, orange citrus with rind, candle wax, some butter/buttered popcorn, honeycomb, biscuits, dark, gritty volcanics with some sharpness on the palate, sea fossils, white spice, crisp chalkiness, sandstone, dry stones, lemon pledge, some fresh herbs, vanillin, leaner caramel notes, more woody notes than I’ve come to expect from Olivier, strong florals...orange blossoms, yellow flowers/lilies framed in jasmine. Nice round acidity. The finish is well textured & polished and persists minutes.

It has been a little while since we have had Olivier’s 2014. It’s our last bottle of three and the honey notes have definitely deepened.
The nose shows; sweet & sour lemons, green & golden apple, lime zest-candy, ripe pineapple, green melon, apricots, white peach, gentle, warm, white spice, beautiful chalkiness, caramel, vanillin, honey, candle wax notes, sea spray-fossils, understated limestone & volcanic minerals, fruit blossoms, yellow flowers/lilies, spring flowers, jasmine with mixed flower greens.
The body is full, thick & slightly waxy. Nice viscosity. sweet & sour lemons, green & golden apple, lime zest-candy, overripe pineapple, green melon, apricots, white peach, grapefruit w/ a touch of sugar, gentle, warm, white spice, beautiful, powdery, chalkiness, caramel, vanillin, honey, candle wax notes, light butter & cream quality, fresh herbaceousiness, sea spray-fossils, understated limestone & grainy, grey, volcanic minerals, light sulphur/flintiness, fruit blossoms, yellow flowers/lilies, spring flowers, jasmine with mixed flower greens. The acidity is round/phat...really well done. The nice finish glides gently with elegance, good balance, just hits the low end of rich & lush and depositing soft, powdery minerals as it long sets.

Rocking nose, red berries, game, smoked meat, olive, so so so St. Jo. Loads of granite and florals. Smells great. Gorgeous combo of florals and minerality. Palate is pure and lush. But structured, sappy and deep. Terrific grip. This is particularly showing well. Really refined and deep. Elegant and structured and it will age. Sappy clinging blackberry and black cherry fruit. Better in 3 years but approachable today if you like some grip. — 2 days ago
Survived my first full week of WFH. My two “office assistants” helping show this bottle. Really enjoying this beautiful full bodied Bordeaux. Blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot and the rest Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc. Dark inky color. Amazing nose. This is a gorgeous rich wine. It presents with a fresh silky mouthfeel. Black berries, licorice and black currant. One word - elegant! Perfect for a social distancing night. — 8 days ago
