Interesting #pinotnoir from #concadebarbera I have friends (Vega Aixalà) with insane high altitude, mountain slope slate vineyards of Pinot Noir from Conca and it’s pretty good. I imagine that these grapes must come from the higher elevation vineyards in Conca. Conca is really large and actually there are so many different climats, it should be split up into different areas. — 3 years ago
50% Garnatxa and 50% Cariñena/Carignan from young vines in the Pardelasses lieu-dit in Torroja (Priorat). Fermented in stainless steel and aged for 12 months in oak. Good nose with dark fruit, (stewed plums), earthy notes and hints of cola and coffee. Full-bodied, good acidity, a little harsh — 3 years ago

We came to Priorat for the wine and this 100% carignan is a great example why. Mineral but balanced, dark mixed berry but not fruit forward or jammy, a smooth finish that lingers. Priorat vines struggle in the slate and produce wines I do much enjoy.
