Paul Jaboulet Aîné

La Chapelle Hermitage Syrah

Had an op to re-buy at $115 and wanted to check in on the 2006. What a nice rendition. Perhaps not the best vintage overall, but in really great shape right now with the typical tobacco aromas. Needless to say, I am buying more — 3 years ago

Roxanich

Teran Re 2009

Local Istria grape Teran with links to Refosco. High in acidity, quite some VA so not a wine for everybody. Personally I like this style. Roxanich is 100% natural and uses extreme long time on wood. Very good — 7 months ago

Alto Adige Pinot Bianco 2019

We were looking for a nice Italian white with pasta Aug 2021 and chose this Pinot Bianca. The aroma was very good and suggested a floral taste. It was smooth, relatively dry and had a taste of pear or peach; nonetheless it was excellent and went well with beef carpaccio, fried calamari and beautiful pasta. A new discovery and will try again to decide re adding to our general stock. Suggest trying. — 3 years ago

Napa Valley Merlot 2016

This month I’m re-visiting Merlot. This one was always consistent and a favorite. The 2016 did not disappoint. Always a place for a good Merlot. — 4 years ago

Re di Renieri IGT Toscana Merlot Blend

A really fun Bordeaux blend (Merlot dominant) grown exclusively in the Brunello di Montalcino region. Unfiltered, and it shows, the silty smoothness is fascinating. Red and black fruits, tootsie roll and hot earth are highlights of both the nose and palette. A very different type of Italian wine, but a fabulous super Tuscan. — 5 years ago
