Canard-Duchêne

Millésimé Vintage Brut Champagne Blend 2012

We drank the 2012 in 2024, and it was starting to show its age. A little bit of sherry color was creeping into the palate, muting the fruit. But still delightful! — 8 months ago

Moulin-à-Vent Gamay 2016

Great Gamay with good acidity and showing signs of red fruit, great pull from the Somm and perfect accompaniment to the French country style magret de canard. Cheers from Paris. — a year ago

Canard-Duchêne

Brut Rosé Champagne Blend

My first experience with this producer. Popped and poured. A sort of pink salmon color with persistent mousse. Delicate red fruit and lightly toasted bread with strawberry jam on the nose. On the palate, peaches and raspberry. There’s good acid. The finish is dry and long. Great value. No disgorgement data. — 4 years ago

Canard-Duchêne

Brut Millésimé Authentic Vintage Champagne

Medium lemon color, aromas of stone and citrus fruits with yeasty notes, significant Pinot Noir in blend. On the palate flavors of apple and pear with lemon citrus zest and floral notes. Fine bubbles, light mousse, medium finish ending with fruit, citrus and yeasty biscuit character. Pair this with shrimp cocktail. — 8 months ago

Slightly past its prime @ 11 yrs, but still quite enjoyable., though a little high on the EtOH — a year ago

Domaine Tortochot

Les Champeaux Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2012

Bon soir from Paris and and change of pace to burgundy. Since canard was on the menu tonight, a burgundy seemed appropriate. A little tightly wound, this Gevery Chambertin was light and peppery with sour cherries and good acidity. Nice pairing with some excellent duck. — 4 years ago
