Juicy Montepulciano blend served with shrimp carbonara at Mida in the South End, Boston — 2 years ago
Deep ruby, and a nose redolent with aromas of plum, blackberry, black cherry, leather, forest floor and stony minerality. Plush, velvety tannins give the wine great body though it could use a touch more acidity to be outstanding. Really enjoyable and a long finish — a great bargain for this under-appreciated grape. — 5 months ago

From Jen and Marcie for my 50th. Really quite good but must drink with food. A little tart for my liking. — 6 months ago
Pardon the absence - we’ve been ravaged by COVID (despite being 3x vaxxed) and our olfactory sense has finally crossed the threshold—no longer feel like I’m smelling everything though a thick blanket. For our first wine back we chose a big one - 2008 Molise aglianico from @Lyle Fass - served cellar temp we’re able to pick up on some nuances - leather, tannin, medium finish, but not much else. Lovely to be drinking wine again and looking forward to full olfactory recovery. — 4 years ago

Never had a rosato like this. It’s a red wine being a rose; a rose being a red wine. Full bodied and fruity but tart with tannins. Best served chilled to bring out its light-side. — a month ago
