Salted, sea tastes. — 6 years ago
Peated with some hint of iodine. Dry and not really invasive with the smoky flavour. — 6 years ago
Mix of sherry and bourbon casks. Great complexity with sweet and spice notes riding on a smoky peat base. But not a smoke bomb like some other Islam malts. — 8 months ago
Fantastic stuff - was better than I remembered it being last year! Rich sherry tones without being overpowering. Is it really from Glenmorangie though? — 7 years ago
5th in the tasting. First of the peat. Really nicely done. Not overly peaty. FYI supposedly the 12 is as good at a better price. Craziest thing I heard? Try the Nikka 21 with sushi. Not sure how we got here and on this topic but I think it was due to the peat/no peat differences. This is one that Start said he always has for company. He also called out the Macallan 25 and Reflection (not a house whiskey obviously but there for special occasions). I noted I need to come over more often! I’m rating higher due to the hint of peat. — 4 years ago
Simply mind blowing. Chocolate, over ripe banana, wet tobacco and burnt sugar. — 7 years ago

Super rich and decadent with a wave of dark stewed fruits like plums, cherries and strawberries. It’s incredibly fruit forward, but not too sweet. There’s a background of black strap molasses and strong maltiness. Incredibly balanced for such a flavorful dram. A phenomenon winter whisky. — 7 months ago
