#WorldWhiskyDay with #Blackadder #CaolIla 1996 #RawCask 14 cask12242 60.3% awesome peat with hints of green apples & demarra rum, smokey & sweet - perfection! — 7 years ago
This is re-casked (believe correct term) in an Octave and therefore only 60 bottles available. I and the tasting group did not taste some of the flavor profile the bottler saw - pear/citrus and found it more wood/dried fruits/caramel/toffee. This one was the darkest brown if the group and I found the most flavorful. It’s power at 51.8%. Adding a drop of water I thought really changed the profile and made it run hotter for me. The finish on this lasts well past a minute. I usually don’t notice the finish for that long but this one stayed there for a whole and made so you didn’t forget it. Might be best if the night or at least tied with Blackadder. — a year ago

Minimum 10 Year Old whiskey in the blend. 172 bottles made. Hint of peat, hint of salinity. — 4 years ago
Another gem from Blackadder. Pale straw colored. Smells like honey, apples and goal. A little alcohol heavy when neat. Really opened up with some water. On my personal wish list for home. — 7 years ago

The Blackadder Raw Cask results in black specks/spot in the bottle. That’s due to them doing no filtration including barrier. In fact, people say they go out of their way to ensure each bottle has sediment as part of the bottling. This is potent at 51.5% and you notice it. That said smooth and I did not add water. Comes across as sweet to start and then the alcohol hits. Still it’s a full mouthfeel and velvety on the tongue. Calling best of the night. — a year ago
