In line with the 96 Ducru I popped recently, fhis was a huge, almost slutty wine. Loads of black and blue fruit, soft cedar, but still extremely primary. On the palate: loads of black and red fruit, good acidity and a touch of leather. Stylish finely grained tannin on the finish. Lovely, but still needs 25 years. — 15 days ago
Tried this because I couldn’t get my fav where I was at. Will buy it again. — a month ago
This bottle of 1982 Gruaud-Larose came direct from the château cellars. It is just pure joy on the nose with fabulous scents of black fruit, hung game (less so than previous bottles), clove and a faint aroma of a stately home. It manages to offer both ample fruit and life-affirming complexity. The palate has aged little since I last tasted it; there's more red fruit here, with freshly rolled tobacco, cedar and a touch more spiciness on the finish than previous tastings, with a sweet yet structured finish. This may well represent the finest bottle that I have encountered. (Neal Martin, Vinous, January 2023) — 3 days ago
I really enjoyed this wine. Smooth, tasty with a nice finish. I'll be having it again. — 6 days ago
Drank this 2012 in early 2023 and I think it is still young! Could go another decade. Delicious nonetheless. Immediate scents of green bell pepper and herbaceous goods that morphs into blue and black fruits. Vanilla is present but definitely secondary. Upon drinking there is a solid structure with a focused power of restrained medium acidity. Spices and some grease come to the forefront. Great lasting finish. Would love to try again in a few years. — 15 days ago
Really enjoyed this Cab. — 8 days ago
Holding up really well. Candied fruit, some cassis notes from the rare Cabernet Sauvignon dominant vintage. — 24 days ago
Very 2003. Plush, leaning a touch overripe for my palate, but still well-managed. On the nose: dense black fruit, with loads of plum. Lovely density, weight and acidity. Comes off more elegant on the palate. Softer tannin than expected on the finish, but maybe it was just covered up by ripe fruit. — 15 days ago
