It's time for some Merlot on this #MerlotThursday.
Dark ruby in color with a wide reddish rim.
Nose of plums, cherries, currants, light wood, earth, licorice, spices, black pepper and light vegetables.
Full bodied, smooth and soft, with medium acidity and nice legs.
Dry on the palate with black plums, cooked cherries, oak, vanilla, licorice, spices, tobacco, dark chocolates, bitter herbs, light vegetables, earth and peppercorn.
Medium finish with round tannins and tangy raspberries.
This is a very enjoyable Merlot from Livermore Valley in California. This Single Vineyard is nice and plush. Showing mild complexity with a soft, elegant mouthfeel.
Good right out of the bottle, but I gave it an hour to open up properly.
A nice wine to have by itself and better with food. Spicy, tangy and interesting.
I paired it with meats and cheeses. Paired very nicely with brie cheese.
100% Merlot grapes from a low yielding single Vineyard. Aged for 20 months in French Oak barrels. A small production of only 138 cases.
14% alcohol by volume.

Staring down the barrel of home workouts once again, sigh...
I think vintage received rave reviews from WS, and for good reason. The nose presents blossom, lychee and jasmine. Palate is vibrant and energetic. Beautiful, exotic delineation, with pineapple and limestone.perfect sweetness with racy acidity. Excellence from NZ. — 5 days ago
You’ll hear wine geeks throw around the word “nervosity” from time to time, and this is a perfect example of a wine that displays that thrumming electrical current of acidity and sappy piney lemony zip that earns the adjective. Gorgeous wet pavement welded to neon lemon pith and pink grapefruit all dusted with fleur de sel. Utterly mouthwatering and delicious. This is the remains of a sample bottle that I’ve been nursing for a few days since tasting it and it continues to be fantastically fresh and demonstrative of a long life ahead of it - provided you have the willpower to wait that long. — 8 days ago
Just approaching the beginning of maturity, with tremendous depth and complexity of fruit and a touch of fresh blackberry cane vegetality, it was initially a little tart on the finish but the acid integrated with air. It’s a world class example of the variety with years of development remaining. — 7 days ago
