Darkish gold. On the nose butterscotch, some lemon acidity and oily perfumed notes with some spice (cinnamon?), orange peel, sandalwood. Loads of secondary notes with great depth and lovely fresh acidity still. This is a cracking bottle of a really good 1990. With the complexity of a great aged champagne and a real spine of rounded acidity and superb balance — 8 days ago
Had this about 2 years ago, and found another bottle. From a small producer, 100% Grand Cru Chardonnay grapes, straw with golden edges with stone and tropical fruit aromas, tiny bubbles and a nice rich mousse. The palate shows ripe fruits, peach, pear & mango with underlining sweetness. Medium finish, crisp, ending with fruit and mineral tones. Aged well. Good for price. — 18 days ago
Disgorged March 2018 and consumed over multiple days. Initially tart with hints of green apple and middling complexity. Over the next few days it evolved with notes of lemony citrus and a kiss of brioche. Needs a little more time or lots of air. — 7 hours ago
Great bubbly and light gold color. Fantastic acidity and minerality. Excellent lingering finish. — 13 days ago
B: one word: dynamite. Revelation. What champagne should and could be. Two glasses. Krug glass and red wine bowl - great aroma in the bowl with slight increased bitterness perhaps. Clean finish. Would like to try other champagnes again...
J: bright, refreshing. Great daytime/first bottle. Yeasty, no after taste, better in krug vs red glass. Fine bubble.
