Ripe raspberries and cherries verging on jam. Anise as well as toasty, smokey oak with some vanilla.

Supple on the palate with good balancing acidity and tannin with sweet oak notes layered in. Alcohol is more noticable than I would like.

Ripe but elegant Rioja with excellent oak integration. Excellent with lamb loin chops and Manchego. — 7 years ago

This is the 2021 Immortalis Vinas de Altura Priorat - With air, the nose shows black cherry, plum, and minerally licorice. Lean and athletic in the mouth. There is some dark cherry and licorice on the palate as well, and a little peppery heat (even though the alc. is listed only at 14%, which is modest for Priorat.) Acids are present, and the lean finish shows some medium-fine-grained tannin. Pretty nice with food, but a little more challenging by itself. — 2 years ago
