This is an unreal wine. One of the best skin contact wines out there. What a color. Pink as a rose. But with a golden sheen. Color is never to be remarked on unless it is truly exceptional. That is the case with this wine. Nose is clean. Like Bounty clean. Amazing pink grapefruit. A lovely bitter element. So delicate and deep. Masterful. Palate is tangy and has so much sweet pink grapefruit and stunningly bracing minerality. Unreal clarity and purity. Endless finish. One of those 9.4’s that you question all night after why you didn’t give it a 9.5. — 13 days ago
Awesome nose. No fruit. Elegant. Almost neutral. Some mint. Really needs air but I know what’s coming and it’s not fruit. Palate is rich, ripe, elegant and mineral. Had a bee sting effect on the tongue from the honeyed richness and all that energy and acidity. So linear and intense. I love this. — 4 months ago
Gorgeous wine as usual. Pungent, high toned and very floral nose. Red cherries, sour cherries. Just soaring. Layered, so detailed with just incredible clarity. Palate is just awesome. So complete. Amazingly fresh and nimble. So stunningly pure. Washes with delicate and elegant minerals. Wow. Truly blowing me away. Such delicacy. Strong but elegant and ripe tannins. So pure. Really just a wonderful Jaspis. And pretty accessible. Beautiful smokiness to the nose. Hint of oak but also just like a Smokey bbq. Remarkable. The freshness is crazy on this. Just bursting. What a showing. Absurdly great. Concentrated and authoritative. It knows it’s great and let’s you know it. Right out of the bottle. — a month ago
Nose is a tad vegetal. A hint of black pepper. An hour in less vegetal. More Smokey. Still not in love.
Palate is so deliciously grippy. Perfect early season cherries. So fresh and crisp. Just a wonderful wine to drink.
I’d give this a 9.4 if the nose were better. It’s a masterful bit of winemaking.

One of my favorite value Pinots I sell. For under $30 this is a startling wine that is easily Jaspis level. Nose is so high toned and so bright you can stand on the chair and still smell it if the glass is on the table. Just awesome lift. Sappy red cherries and berries. A lipstick like intensity. Unreal minerality. Wafting and so complex. Brilliant! I love Ziereisen. What a palate. Big acids and big fruit but lavished with minerals. Gorgeous length and purity. What a finish. This is a knockout. Really intense inner mouth aromas. Awesome freshness and purity. So deep. Just absurd value. Nose is getting leafy and meaty. So complex. Not sure if all bottles are a 9.5 but this bottle is a 9.5. As this airs the structure becomes more prominent. This will age. What a wine. — a month ago
Just the most unique wine. Lemon oil, herbal, so gorgeous, insane minerality, classy oak, super complex, iodine, has the rockiness of a Meursault Perrieres, palate is so complete, so concentrated and had a bitter/juuust ripeness. Only 12% better in 5 years. But insane now. — 2 months ago
Just opened this. One can tell this will be a journey. I would only open this if you have at least 2-3 hours to Taste it. It’s all over the place on open. Basically tastes like if Ziereisen made wine in the mountains.
Nose is dense but has that alpine thing you get from like savoie. Very pretty. Almost intoxicating. Like a field of flowering cherry trees on top of a mountain.
Palate is very bright. Sweet cherry fruit.
A 9.5 easy on open. I’m guessing this will be better as it airs and integrates.
As this opens holy fuck. Nose is alpine with some gevrey spice. Palate is rubber made from grape vines (I know impossible), cherry. Rich. Elegant Cherry extract. Just a kiss of bitterness. Wowowowowo. So elegantly rich. Unbelievable.
