Do you like Côte-Rôtie ? Have you ever wondered what it would taste if it were made in Germany? If so, this is the wine for you. Utterly beautiful Syrah with serious density and oozing class. Will age for quite a bit—we gave it a full day in the decanter. Brilliant winemaking. If I could think of a flaw, it’s only that it’s missing that hint of wild or feral funk that I love in its French cousins. And, of course, that’s not the fault of the wine in the least. — 9 days ago

This is backwards out of the gates but it’s all there. Huge density, power and concentration while remaining fresh and incisive. Needs an hour and I will be back. Needed way more than an hour. Still on day 2 this is dense and sinewy. Really structured but so fresh. Acts like high end Crozes or baby Hermitage. On day 3 this has finally come around! Like the 18 and 15! Unreal aromas and so expansive. Sweet, dense and long 9.4 to 9.5. But it was like pushing a boulder up a cliff. — 13 days ago

Wow!! For sure one of the best white wines I’ve ever had. I realllllly love the aromatics on this - some smokiness, herbs, minerals with lemon. Complex, subtle, layered. The flavors are very refined. Very mineral, perfect acidity. Restrained, elegant fruit, mostly citrus with notes of pecan, popcorn? and fresh greens. Luxurious finish. So balanced! I just learned that Gutedel is another name for Chasselas, which is a favorite grape of mine for Swiss whites. But this is on another level. I’m going to listen to @Lyle Fass and patiently age my other 2 bottles. Just had to try one now :) — 2 months ago
