Rózsa Petsovits Syrah

It’s not a red. It’s not a rose. It’s a rosed? Very drinkable chilled. Sort of smells like strawberry watermelon lemon jello. It sort of taste like cranberry juice with a splash of lemon, watermelon and apple juice (?). There’s some ocean spray salinity and good acidity. It paired well with ground pork sausage and rosemary pasta. I’m not sure what to make of this, but it’s definitely something I can enjoy on a warm or cool day, for no reason. — 2 years ago

Bodigraben Blaufränkisch.
Elegant and quite powerful. Blackfruit, sweet spice and a mineral, iron streak. Juicy acidity, great balance, good weight. Very nice.

Kalkofen Ritzinger Ried Blaufränkisch 2017

Really excellent. A bit of inviting animal musk on the nose, with lots of spicy and peppery blue and blackberries, juicy and vibrant. If burgenland reds can be this exciting maybe I need to dive deeper — 2 years ago

Sopron Merlot Cabernet Franc 2012

Very juicy stuff. The acidity and spicyness reminds me of Weningers Blaufränkisch wines. Still quite strong and drying tannins, this wine should improve from more aging. — 6 years ago
