I like this estate, their wines are always evocative and emit a regional personality. This was my first time trying this, the entry level cuvée - it's a plump, juicy little number and an excellent value. Fruit-sweet, with plum, lavender and some black tea notes, along with a cherry pit quality on the finish. Finishes with a peppery kick. It's got a lot of meat on the bones and is definitely warm, but the 15+% isn't too obvious or off-putting. Nice cocktail wine. — a month ago
Pop and pour, notes from 1 hr open. Better than I remember my last btl being, but still not up to the level of that first '11. On the nose: lavender, incense, loads of garrigue, and soft red raspberry..very pure grenache. On the palate: serious acidity, hi-toned red raspberry, more herbal notes, with some salinity, almost olive brine/game, though I believe this is 100% grenache, and attenuated tannin on the finish. This has taken a very savory turn, and the tannin on the finish is slightly attenuated. Yum! — 13 hours ago
Wow, this is amazing for a 12-year old Cotes du Rhone. Nose almost reminds me of mature Bordeaux (good shit, not regular Bordeaux). Cedar, earthy, dark spicy blackberry, iodine. Totally resolved and balanced in the mouth, with a remarkable fruit presence for a 12-yr. old. Tannins still there but super soft. Good acids. Just wow. — 5 days ago
Côte-du-Rhone style. The fruit (Black) is respected. We find the beautiful notes of peppery violet of Syrah, and the greedy character strawberry/caramel of the grenache.. also the roasted side, liquorice. Nice and cool.
Style Côte-du-Rhone. Le fruit (Noir) est respecté. On retrouve les belles notes de violette poivrée de la Syrah, et le caractère gourmand fraise/caramel de la grenache.. également le côté torréfié, réglisse. Frais et sympa. — 14 days ago
