From a Ridge mini vertical at a friend’s house. 08, 07, 06. This 06 is by far the most evolved. Nose is sweet with ripe, almost prune-tinged fruit. I hesitate to say prune because it has a bad connotation but this is really good. And at its peak. Lots of sweet, old library notes. Still a lot of tannin, but the flavors are revolved so don’t wait for more tannin to drop. A real pleasure-giver. — 2 days ago
Pale gold. Lemon, minerals, high acidity and bitterness level. Crisp, sinewy wine. Apple skin, green melon, paraffin, freshly cut green herbs. Many users say they find this Chablis-esque, and I can see that.

Often times lacking the acidity and tensions found in other countries, this is a beautiful example@of American riesling. While it shouldn’t be compared to a German Riesling for example, this still has a powerful presence. A bit more round but it’s enveloping. Very good stuff from a really good dude! — 23 days ago
This is fantastic. Foxy, animal nose of black currant, brambles and quinine. Such pretty aromas. Really light, almost ethereal on the palate. Tart and structured, with delicate tannins brushing the finish, and a wonderful saltiness. Super harmonious. 9.5+ — 11 days ago
In formidable shape, wrapping up its third decade. The nose is striking. Smooth on the palate, tannins resolved, tertiary characteristics. Still enough fruit and acidity to keep it fresh. Cork was impeccable. Double decanted, modest amount of sediment. Winemaker’s comments: 94% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Cabernet Franc, Bates’ Ranch. Dusty, earthy, aromatic cedar, berry bouquet.
