monthly red from my custom made personally wine club cheers.co.il
medium + acidity
light body of tart red 🍒 and black plums, smoke, tar and some earth.
opened up a bit as time passed but drank too quickly to truly comprehend.
i was guessing a not good enough sangiovese.
but its ok-ish southern France blend.
quaffble for sure.
paired well with grilled vegetables, garlicky 🥔 puree and green leaves salad. — 20 days ago
Glowing, radiant fruit mixed with salty/mineral tones and a distinctive phenolic grip adding dimension and structure. Skin contact dialed in. Graceful and nimble given its richness. White peach, orange cream, scrubland, salt, crushed rock, green almond, yellow flowers, beeswax. Played incredibly well with roasted Halibut, chorizo and ratatouille — 22 days ago
Rhône-like Red Blend (60% Syrah, 20% Grenache and 10% Carignan). Wonderful bright raspberry fruit aromas and flavors with hints of dried herbs, baking spices and purple flowers. Not sensing any oak, but there is a Smokey element on the finish. Bright with fresh acidity. — 19 days ago
This is one of the best Rose’ wines I’ve ever tried. Bursting with fruit aromas, it is bright yet smooth. It tastes very balanced, with no unpleasant acidity on the back end. Just an outstanding Rose’, and I love the beautiful and elegant bottle designs and glass stopper. Love this 2020 vintage!! — 16 hours ago
Here’s a biodynamically-produced Syrah blend from Minervois La Livinière AOC, a subregion within Minervois, which is located on the slopes of the Massif Central (highlands) in the Languedoc region of France (Southern). 🇫🇷 It has 95% Syrah and 5% Grenache. 🍇
This wine comes from grapes grown on the terraced vineyards of Les Planels, where grapes have been grown for 35 years.
👁 The color is beautifully deep and rich purple. I see noteworthy staining and tearing on the glass.
👃 The nose is youthful with an immediate bouquet of ripe and jammy black fruit such as black plum, black cherry, cassis, and blackberry preserves. There are also dried herb notes, such as lavender, sage, thyme, also black peppercorn, anise, pencil lead, cedar, cinnamon, clove, earth, and cured meat.
This wine was fermented in an open concrete vat and aged for 12 months in French Oak barrels, 1/3 of which were new oak, lending some of the baking-spice notes to the nose. 🪵
👄 On the palate this wine is dry. It has medium acidity, a full body, high alcohol, grippy tannins, flavors largely consistent with the nose, but less juicy and more earthy on the palate, and a lingering finish.
This wine is juicy and bold and has potential for further aging. 👌👌👌
We’re pairing it tonight with leftovers from last night’s bbq 🍖 🥩 and it is a lovely pairing!
Château Maris, Les Planels, Cru La Livinières. Syrah and Grenache. Vintage 2017. ABV 14.5%. — 19 days ago
