Red cherry fruit. Velvety. Dense — 6 months ago
🏅 Rating 90+/100 (4,05⭐)
Tawny rim. First nose is intense balsamic and herbal. Prunes, roasted coffee beans. Dried rose. Dark chocolate. Oak reveals with aeration. Lacked the primary fruit aromas, very much into tertiary territory, which made me think this wine is more advanced than it should be at this age. We could blame challenging vintage for that.

Lovely full bodied Chianti Classico Riserva still tannic on the palate and could age at least another 5 years. Very indicative of the region of Castellina in Chianti with the addition of 10% Merlot for smoothness and body. Unfortunately my last bottle of the 2008 vintage. Drinking in May, 2020. — a year ago
Great wine with steak — 2 months ago
Banger. Juicy with just the right amount of tannin to complement the monster fillet I enjoyed this fine evening. 🎄 — 6 months ago
Lovely. Smooth. Definite currents/raisins. Low tannins. Lovely with prime beef roast. A definite buy again. — 8 months ago
100% Merlot. Full-bodied, lots of dark fruit, sweetness combined with good acidity and velvety tannins. Great wine! — 2 years ago
