This was suppose to be a Friday night happy Champagne toast. But like Neapolitan, we drink Champagne in good & bad times.
We raise a glass in celebration of one of the greatest women of our time. Ruth, you were a true champion of Justice for the people. Rest in power. You have earned it. Can’t think of many more deserving. You wanted to hang in there for the people. We are forever sorry destiny had other plans. “2020, The Year of the Apocalypse!” #RIPRUTH
It has been a long time since I’ve had a Nicolas Feuillatte anything and never had their Rosé until It was at Costco for just over $30. I thought to myself time to give it a try & grabbed one.
The nose reveals; black cherries, strawberries, deep, ripe, watermelon, pomegranate & cranberry juice, hints of tangerine & even less rhubarb, cherry kirsch, good presence of yeastiness, bread dough, baguette crust, oyster shells, sea spray, some white spice, watermelon Jolly Rancher/fruit roll ups, fruit tea, saline, grey volcanics, soft chalky powder, candied, red florals that are brilliant with pink & red roses.
The palate is; round, thick, rich, lush & highly polished. Micro oxygenation. The fruits are very ripe, deep and juicy. Black cherries, strawberries, deep, ripe, watermelon, pomegranate & cranberry juice, hints of tangerine & even less rhubarb, cherry kirsch, good presence of yeastiness, bread dough, baguette crust, oyster shells, sea spray, more white spice on the palate with heat, watermelon Jolly Rancher/fruit roll ups, fruit tea, saline, just a splash of herbaceousness stingy, grey volcanics, soft chalky powder, candied, red florals that are brilliant with pink & red roses. The acidity is round & lively. The long finish is nicely balanced fruit & earth with a long set of spice that persists minutes.
Serviceable at this price point but, it’s not going to replace my BSR & Ruinart N/V Rosé habit. — 2 days ago
Earthy aromas with ripe plum notes - a very Otago nose albeit in the lighter spectrum. Same notes transfer to the medium bodied sappy palate. Not as full bodied as I was expecting. Quite Burgundian in weight and texture. Made by the equally earthy Nick Mills, owner and winemaker who made his presentation at Pinot NZ 2018 in Wellington in bare feet. Rippon is biodynamic and chemical free. I subsequently had a nice chat with him - a genuine bloke. Must be one of the prettiest vineyard scenes anywhere in the world sloping up from Lake Wanaka. Whilst this is classed as Central Otago this is not as full bodied as the Bannockburn/Felton Road district. — 16 hours ago
An epic epic Pezerolles. Unreal nose. Superbly floral and just so gorgeous. Red cherry, black cherry, floral again, hint of licorice. So stunningly fragrant. Just bright and lifted. Palate is just oozing with gorgeous pure fruit. Red fruit driven with a black fruit edge to it. Sappy and so complete. What a long finish. Stoney aromas after some air. Palate has melty tannins that are so fine. Seems a bit closed initially but the super long finish makes me think this has more to say. 9.3 for now. I’ll be back.
This opened up after air end a day and became much more integrated. It’s a big wine in need of age but a smokeshow. 9.3 to 9.4 but with age will be 9.6 — 4 days ago
Rosé and comfort food - heck yes! Growing up my mum made ‘sausage swirls’ which are pastry, sausage, potato and cheese swirls. And now they’re my go-to comfort food - however I add a jar of jalapeños 🌶 for a bit of a kick 🙌
I thought they’d be a great match to this bottle of Lansdowne 2019 Pinot Rosé which we were sent as a sample from Good Pair Days (thanks guys!).
Only a small quantity of this wine was made (177 cases in fact) due to extreme weather conditions that year.
If you want to give it a whirl, and/or try out the Good Pair Days experience, make sure to add the code “travellingcorkscrew” for a discount at the checkout 😉
I felt like I was watching the sunset 🌅 as the red-y orange like liquid was poured into my glass. On the nose it had me thinking about wild strawberries 🍓, tangerine and pink grapefruit. While in the mouth it’s smooth and hella delicious. Refreshing, comforting and bloody yum.
This wine was sent to me as a sample, I was under no obligation to post about it. By using the above promo code I will receive a small amount of commission.
All opinions are based on my own taste buds. Wine is subjective & always evolving, so make sure you drink what you enjoy!

Nice Burgundy wine, rather light. A nose of tangy red fruits typical of Pinot Noir (raspberry, redcurrant). Wonderfully conducted vinification, bringing slightly woody aging notes. The body is full, harmoniously blending primary and tertiary notes. The finish is developed, nothing more.
— 16 days ago
Beautiful floral bouquet and spices, touch of cinnamon and some black cherries. The wine is surprisingly quite open for a young Dujac, drinks really well, touch of oak and stems on the palate but used so judiciously, good structure but with fine grain tannins that are elegant and approachable, absolutely delicious and was gone in a flash. 90-91 at this level
90-91 à ce niveau — a day ago
Organic Burgundy that has nothing to envy to the prestigious appellations of the region. Very nice plain Pinot Noir; quite light, magnificent texture on the palate, tertiary notes with hints of vanilla, almost caramelized perfectly melted. Super price / pleasure ratio.
Super rapport prix/plaisir . — 21 hours ago
Reddish in color with a wide reddish rim and medium plus intensity. Very pretty.
On the nose bing cherries, blueberries, spices, light oak, light red candy, earth and black pepper.
Medium plus in body with medium plus acidity.
Dry on the palate with bing cherries, raspberries, blueberries, light wood, light earth, spices and peppercorn.
Medium plus on the finish with soft tannins and tangy raspberries.
This 4 year old Pinot Noir from Sonoma County is drinking very nicely now. Nicely balanced with a nice mouthfeel.
Fruit forward and easy drinking with a spicy finish. Fun wine and very tasty now. Alcohol is nicely integrated by now.
Will continue to drink nicely in the next 3 to 5 years.
Good right out of the bottle. I gave it a light chill and had it by the pool. Paired nicely with a Double cream Brie cheese.
100% Pinot Noir grapes from a Single Vineyard. A small production of only 92 cases. Aged in 30% new oak barrels.
14.5% alcohol by volume.

Wow, this is a big pinot with a marvellous tannin.
Bright and quiet vibrant.
There's leather, cinnamon, forest floor, musk.
White pepper, very floral, a blueberry with raspberries around. The green balsamic side is a delicate Thai mint rather than a straightforward eucalyptus. Tobacco leaves and more notes given by the very present oak component.
I trust this wine will find a better harmony on the sweet side in a while, perhaps when the tannin will soften.
However this is very different vest from the 19s and the 17s., more complex already and even though I believe this wine will age gracefully for a bit I find it already on a secondary stage compared to the formers. I am very fascinated, it reminded of a Vosne from Dom. Laurent.
Long after taste, excellent! — 4 days ago
It is Thursday night the eve before the start of another weekend. I have opened the 2018 Patricia Green Cellar Durant Vineyard Madrone Block Pinot Noir. This is a beautifully balanced pinot noir from the Dundee Hills of the Willamette Valley of Oregon.
The nose brings out notes of cherry, raspberry, floral notes, sassafras, vanilla, cola, clove and baking spices.
Onnthe palate there is cherry, raspberry, cranberry, spice, vanilla, herbs, hibiscus and forest floor.
This wine is a beautiful expression of Pinot Noir that is beautifully well balanced and is medium bodied with medium + acidity and medium fine tannins that lead into a medium to long red fruit finish. Here we are on the eve before the start of another weekend and we need to look within to see how we want to proceed in life? Do we want to try and make something out of our life and do right with our fellow man or proceed with the status quo and not make a mark on this world.i hope we all want to make a difference and try and lift one another up. Let try and support one another and see above the hate and discontent. Please be kind to one another and be healthy and safe so we can all make this a better place. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷 — 10 days ago
