Dark ruby garnet coloration. Not translucent. On the nose, ripe plum, sour cherry, florals, balsamic, menthol, spice and leather. On the palate, full bodied, cherry, pepper, cinnamon, spice, anise, clove. Many levels on the palate and a medium finish before the tannins take over. Tannins still strong after 16 years. With gnocchi bolognese it’s another level of wine with a long finish of dark cherry, florals and anise. — 5 months ago
