Serra Boella Barbaresco Nebbiolo 2013

Subdued cherry. Minerals and quick dry finish. Begs for a second sip to which I am happy to oblige. Mild tannin.... Developing cocoa after opening up. — 7 years ago

Excellent. Strong notes of guava and passion fruit on the nose. Dry with a bitter tannic bite on the finish. — 7 years ago

Ca Veja Nebbiolo d'Alba 2017

Committed to trying more old world wines this year and this is a tasty number to kick that off! Easy drinker, very subtle cherry, not fruity. Definite acid and citrus, light tannins, would go great with red sauce as well as heartier fish. Appealing ruby color. Opened up with some air-time/decanting for sure and would likewise benefit from some cellar time. But a very good vibe even at this young age. — 6 years ago

Campolive Barbera d'Alba Superiore 2015

LP 3 from the Gurdjieff/ de Hartmann box set and a spectacular Barbera. The music is a collection of beautiful piano compositions based on the spiritual teachings of George Gurdjieff. The wine has all the juicy pleasure one expects from Barbera, but has plenty of structure as well. Tannins add some texture & the acidic lift adds complexity to the wine. I absolutely love Barbera, and this is a top level example. — 5 years ago
