Very good QPR. Very typical Rioja body, taste and character at a very reasonable price. Good with Spanish and Medi foods of all sorts. I definitely would buy again. — 3 months ago

Located in Vilaza, Galacia, this estate location has Mencia vines up to 50 years of age. The wine was aged in French oak for seven months and then in the bottle for additional three months. The freshness and soft texture are really great, as pink bubblegum, Bing cherry and red raspberry mingle with garrigue and damp earthy tones on the palate. Fantastic in its youth, this bright Mencia wine will cellar well over the next eight plus years. Drink 2021-2028- 90

As other writers have commented, this takes a long time to open up! Give it 5 or 6 hours..
Interesting nose, and could easily mistake it for a Sangiovese. Hazelnuts, almond.
Medium bodied with pomegranate, dried cherry, a touch of quince, the tannins from the fruit is still so much larger than that of the barrel it is aged in, giving that true connection to old world wine.
A touch of acid and lip smacking tannin.

Really enjoyed this one. Accompanied by an assortment of tapas. Can just taste the vanilla coming through. Lovely finish. — 4 months ago
