Outstanding Albariño by Xosé Luis Sebio (winemaker at Coto de Gomariz). From old vines in Aios (Sanxenxo) in the Salnes subzone of Rías Baixas. Clean, precise nose with aromas of citrus, minerals, sea breeze. Very refreshing, elegant on the palate. Citrus, zesty acidity. Long, saline finish. Very very good — 3 months ago
Another Iberian stunner I hadn’t tried before. Pale garnet, translucent at the edges. Gorgeous nose has rose petals, strawberry, dried leaves, black tea. Palate is earth and floral tones, rocks and tart red fruit in that order. There’s like a slight crunchy vegetal pink peppercorn thing going on too. Could go with just about anything (this pizza very much included) — a year ago

Made from 100% Albariño from the O Pucha Estate, An outstanding Albariño. Bright pale lemon with aromas of stone, tropical fruits and elegant floral scents. On the palate flavors off melon, peach and pineapple with honey-like tones. Well structured and balanced, medium+ finish ending with savory mineral tang. Nice! — 5 months ago

Fabulous bottling. Singular exemplar of what albariño can do at the highest level. Tightrope between grassy, herbaceous Sauvignon blanc opening & smoky Riesling finish. Reminds you why albariño was thought to be a Riesling clone. Zippy acid, lime, smoky apple fruit, fabulous texture and long penetrating finish. 200 y/o vines. 😍 — 14 days ago
