Zwick Cuvee 2019 Wbg. Chardonnay — 21 days ago
Prior notes still mostly apply, decanted +3H. Lighter acidity (👍) and a touch more neutral-ish oak notes, showing beautiful tonight!
Nose has green apple slice, under-ripe pear, garden fresh string beans, cold butter and fresh green apple peel.
Palate has baked green apple with sprinkle of sugar, lemon pith, river stones, lemon zest with medium acidity and a long finish.
On the Lawn at Tanglewood this evening with the Boston Symphony Orchestra, without orchestra or conductor 😉. Three humble souls playing an all BEETHOVEN program (Piano Trio No. 3 in C minor (Opus 1, No. 3) and Symphony No. 2 in D (Opus 36, arr. for piano trio by Beethoven)) with a few of the best players of instruments containing strings, Yo-Yo Ma (cello), Leonidas Kavakos (violin) and Emanuel Ax (piano). A true delight for lovers of Classical music this evening! — 6 days ago
Always a killer wine. Such citrus! Minerals abound. Grapefruit and blood orange aromas. Really lively and expressive. Impressive. Palate is concentrated and elegant with good substance while also being light and ethereal. Very juicy and amazing finish. Always one of the best Riesling values in the Mosel. — 13 hours ago

Wow. Just perfect. Amazing off the bat.
Nose: slate made form yellow flowers. As this opens more serious.
Palate: simply perfect. That balance you get only in great wines. The density you only get in grand cru wines. Terrific brightness. Multi spectral inner mouth aromatics. Infinite almost. Sorry. Balance is perfect. If this had a bit more florality on the internal aromatics it would be a 10. It’s that good.
As I enter my senescence I am trying to be tactful Otherwise I would say you are an idiot if you not drinking grosses gewachs. This was like $50. Worth $200. At least.

Wow the nose is elite and harmonious. Sick. Flowers. Lime zest. Cotton candy. Blood orange. Tangerine. So complex. So ethereal. Amazing fleshiness to the nose. Wow. This is almost a 9.8 nose. How underrated is this guy? Wow, so sweet tart on the palate with sweet green apples, sweet rainier cherries and such filigree. So finesse. So complete and ethereal. Unreal filigree. Huge sweet tart fruit. God level delicious. Insane core of fruit and mineral. So long and finishes almost gamey. But that unique Nahe/Mosel gaminess. A stunner. Herbs on the nose. Superb spice. Wow. Smells like a scene in nature. Sick sick wine. Wow. This is the most insane spatlese value ever. — 11 days ago
