Very balanced with room to grow. The legs show the complexity and the smell is dry and layered. Very Good with Iberico — a month ago

Gaudium Gran Vino Rioja Tempranillo Blend 2019

2019 vintage. A bit richer than expected. Slightly less grip than anticipated. This is a great wine “cheat code” for Spain and Rioja. Showing nicely now. 11.20.24. — 3 months ago

@Scott@Mister A’s-San Diego I really dig your reviews. Love your turn of phrase and prose that comes at describing wine from a different angle. Really connects. Keep it coming! Also, your Delectable handle begs to be looked up. Found your video with HospitaliTV - just finished. I really enjoyed your thoughts on half bottles and customer approach. Wish we lived even close to San Diego, but if we ever visit we’ll be sure to stop into Mister A’s. Cheers!

Marqués de Riscal

Reserva Herederos del Marques de Riscal Rioja Tempranillo 2020

Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of an hour. The 2020 Reserva pours a deep ruby/purple with a near opaque core; medium+ viscosity with moderate staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of ripe and tart dark fruits: blackberry, black cherry, toasted coconut, dill, vanilla, wood, and associated baking spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+. Already balanced but the oak is playing a significant role at this stage (this is traditionally made Rioja Reserva we’re talking about). There is plenty of stuffing however and I expect this will become even more balanced with some time on its side. Want to see a wine under $20 that can age for 30 years? Welp, here you go. Drink now through 2050. — 13 days ago

Medium complexity. Needs ~three years in the cellar to unwind a bit but this is good juice. — 2 months ago

Gran Vino Pazo Barrantes Rías Baixas Albariño 2020

Somewhat rounder and not quite as dry as some other albarinos out there. Very pleasant balance between fruit, acidity, alcohol and small remaining hints of sugar. — a month ago
