Bodega DiamAndes

Clos de los Siete Malbec Blend

I think this is an amazing Malbec blend - 58%, 23% Merlot, 10% Cab, 8% Syrah, and 1% Petit Verdot but… it needs to open up a little bit more; I can’t help being impatient- this wine has been 9 years for me to find it tucked away in a small city Arkansas liquor store. Initial impressions are - I love this but and the intricacy of the blend. On the nose - definitely blackberry and black currants. So smooth and perfectly balanced on the palette. I would definitely purchase this again but I’d look for an older bottle for sure! Oh, did I mention this bottle cost under $20? — 20 days ago

Ramey Wine Cellars

Claret Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2015

Ramey’s interpretation of #claret is quite interesting. After 9 years of bottle time it’s aged more than expected. Stewed plum, quite faint dark fruit on the nose. Prominent acidity on palate, primary fruit exited stage left, some sherry notes but still noticeable tannins. 68% #cabernetsauvignon, 18% #merlot, 6% #syrah, 4% #malbec, 4% #petitverdot — 8 days ago

Trivento

Golden Reserve Luján de Cuyo Malbec 2019

v19. This is really good! Soft white pepper and cedar nose. Fresh, deep, rich black fruit licorice. Tight, chewy, smooth, long, slightly astringent, dried herbal spice and mocha finish. Nicely balanced. — 23 days ago

Quilceda Creek

CVR Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2017

Too often this, wine is drunk at release. Just a little patience goes a long way. At 7 years the primary black and red fruit is still there with dried plums showing up along with cedar cocoa tar anise. Tannins still there so can go along a bit longer bit why wait — 10 days ago

9.5

The follow up to the 03 Brane-Cantenac. So good but still youthful now as I mentioned this 97 still is in @Paul T- Huntington Beach recent post of his 2013.

The tannins are round, softened but still meaty & somewhat tarry.

The nose is still brooding. Ripe lush, ruby, fruits of, blackberries, black plum, black raspberries, dark cherries, baked to poached strawberries. Dark, rich, sweet forest floor, mix of Indian & Asian spice with palate piercing heat, notes of Cognac, steeped tea, clove, nutmeg, cinnamon, black licorice, tarry notes, day crushed rocks, limestone minerals, grey volcanic minerals, light tobacco with ash, used leather, sandalwood, bright, fresh; dark, red, blue florals with violets.

The palate is ripe, lush, juicy & floral fruits of; blackberries, black plum, black raspberries, dark cherries, baked to poached strawberries, raspberry highlights & pomegranate. Dark, rich, sweet forest floor, mix of Indian & Asian spice, notes of Cognac, steeped tea, clove, nutmeg, cinnamon stick, black licorice, tarry notes, day crushed rocks, limestone minerals, grey volcanic minerals/ash, moist, grey clay, light tobacco with ash, used leather, sandalwood, bright, fresh; dark, red, blue florals with violets, insane, waterfall acidity, woven, layered, structured, nicely tensioned with great length and a incredibly balanced, well polished finish that goes on for two to three minutes.

If you are 15-20 years plus patient w/ these bottling’s, they are one of the very best values in Napa Valley.

Flora Springs

Trilogy Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2021

Inky in color with a short purplish rim.

Strong nose with black fruits, cedar, licorice, chocolates, light vegetables, wild flowers and peppercorn.

Full-bodied and smooth, with medium acidity and long legs.

Dry on the palate with blackberries, black cherries, currants, cedar, vanilla, spices, espresso, cola, herbs, licorice, dark chocolates, light earth and peppercorn.

Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cherries.

This young Cabernet Sauvignon blend from Napa Valley is already delicious.

Rich and engaging. Powerful and dark. Still a little unforgiving. Spicy and fruit forward.

Much earthier on the nose than on the palate. Only after 2.5 hours it balances out, so be patient.

Will continue to age nicely in the next 10 to 15 years, and has good potential to become a 94+ point wine. Would be nice to revisit it in 5 years.

I Had a few vintages of this wine and it is very consistent.

Good by itself as a sipping wine or with food. Will pair nicely with a big piece of steak.

A blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Petit Verdot and 5% Malbec. Grapes were handpicked and aged for 18 months in mostly French oak barrels.

14.2% alcohol by volume.

92 points.

$95.
