This has really changed or at least this bottle. The acidity has perked up significantly. Very tight on opening, needing about 30-60 minutes of air. Lemon zest, oyster shell and minerals. Beautifully composed, pairing so well with a diverse array of food (tonight was fusilli with clams, Serrano, pecorino, garlic and roasted cherry tomatoes). It’s amazing how this wine went from low acidity and almost flabby to tight with punchy acidity. I have one bottle left that I will likely drink this coming year. — 14 days ago
Tightly wound nose, lots of beeswax, white florals and some stone fruit, rounded by oak. Palate in unfortunately alcohol-first (I guessed 14.5 but it’s 15!) but layers of texture. Good bit hot, more pedigree than magic — 15 days ago
Light but flavorful - easy drinker - not very complex but nicely balanced — a month ago
Lemon, lime, kiwi, fruit forward. Lively in the mouth. Soft chalkiness and minerality, sea spray, biscuit, lots of white spice, yellow florals, nice acidity, balance, length and polished finish that lingers beautifully. Wire to wire solid. @ K&L Champagne tasting. — 8 days ago
Smoke on the nose in this full body wine that goes down smooth. Great wine! — 9 days ago
Sipping Fine Wine
All of the grapes from the vineyards owned by the Latter family are vinified and aged in the cuverie of Château Corton Grancey in Aloxe-Corton. The winery was the first purpose-built cuverie in France and remains the oldest still-functioning. Medium pale lemon color with aromas of stone fruits with a slight nutty floral character. On the palate flavors of peach and melon with lemon citrus and savory notes. Medium+ finish, lively acidity, ending with fruit, toasty oak and minerality. Nice! — 20 hours ago
