Tour Rain Cabernet Franc - Gamay Blend 2017

So much to enjoy: spicy, bright, brambly, juicy red fruit that demands a glass kept close at hand. — 5 months ago

Buxton Vineyard Rosé of Cabernet Franc 2017

I’ve been awful at keeping tracking of what we’ve been drinking during COVID times...because it’s mostly been beer. ANYWAY, I’ll be better.

This is better than beer. To start, it’s barely barely pink. Completely gorgeous. It opens with the most incredible lighting acidity that resolves to pretty notes like rose water and a little astringent stemminess that is lovely. Get it if you can find it!

Leah Marlborough Pinot Noir 2011

Nice 2011 Pinot from New Zealand. Great peppery notes as is standard for the region. Balanced well with the fruit. @aboutbeverages — 6 months ago

Mae's Vineyard Blanc de Cabernet Franc 2018

Deep ruby hue. Noticeable tearing and extraction. Nose offers intense, round red and black fruit aromas such as black cherry, blackberry, raspberry, plum, and spices such as anise, molasses, nutmeg, with a strong floral undercurrent and delicate peat moss, tobacco, and leather notes. Palate is largely consistent with the nose, offering a medium body, medium tannins, medium+ acidity, and tart but flavorful impact with that hint of spiciness. Definitely worth a breathe after opening to let the intense flavors integrate and settle a bit. Medium finish. Interesting new world take in Cabernet Franc (100%) from Southern Oregon. Vintage 2018. ABV 14%.

I imagine this may pair well with grilled brats or burgers or pork chops where the fruitiness is a contrasting complement to the savory dish and the smokiness lends some symmetry with similarly intense flavors. Thoughts 💭?
