2011 was drinking beautifully last night. — 7 years ago
2003 Le Macchiole IGT Toscana (Bolgheri) - nose of red stone fruits, burnt orange peel and lavender. Palate brings sour cherry, black tea and licorice along with bitter, grippy tannins. A bit austere at first even with considerable bottle age, this wine needs a lot of air in order to show off its elegance. 70% Sangiovese, 20% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc. — 11 years ago
Found this gem on the wine list on my one night in Florence. The mark up was only €20 so I was happy to splurge on this bottle. Only 3800 bottles were made in 2019. It is a very polished and balanced Syrah with a strong aromatics. Blueberries, herbs, bacon fat, licorice and fresh notes of menthol. — 6 months ago
Great choice ! — 9 years ago
Might be on the downward slope. 2nd bottle was better but first bottle was a little flat — 9 months ago
This is as great Tuscany can get - 100% Cabernet Franc, with beautiful fruit, very dark appearance, dark cherry, herb and chocolate flavours. Duemani refers to the two hands of Luca d’Attoma, oenologist also known from Tua Rita and Le Macchiole, two other great Tuscany estates. Prices have almost doubled since 2005, but this wine is worth it! — 2 years ago
