Paso Robles Sauvignon Blanc

One of my favorite domestic SBs (I gravitate toward New Zealand SBs) with nice minerality and tropical fruit galore. Some pear there too. Yum. Love this one really cold. — a month ago

Central Coast Sauvignon Blanc

Here are my tasting notes for this wine:

Alcohol Content 13.5%

Cork Rotating Closure

Visual: Clear with a golden hue, legs are defined

Nose: Honeysuckle, with hints of stone fruits

Body: Balanced, light to medium body

Palate: Balanced acidity, with fruit forward, hints of melon and peach.

How to serve: Best served chill

Overall: Good wine, balanced with notes of stone fruits and melons on the nose and palate, refreshing on a hot summer day.

Pairing Notes: Would pair well with a fruit tray, green and red grapes, melon, honeydew, cantaloupe, pineapple, and strawberries. White or yellow cheddar, gouda, goat cheese, muenster, and/or brie would also go very well with this wine. Ham, turkey, cold cuts, and olives are also a good choice.

Justification Paso Robles Cabernet Franc-Merlot 2017

This 6 year old Paso Robles Cabernet Franc is drinking very nicely now. Spicy and rich. Fruit forward and dark.

Full bodied and smooth with medium acidity.

Dry and very fruity on the palate.

Showing blackberries, black currants, plums, baked raisins, alcohol, cedar, vanilla, bitter herbs, chocolates, spices, licorice, light vegetables and peppercorn.

Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.

A little hot at the back of the throat, but a nice sipping wine. Tasty, jammy and complex.

Robert Parker 92 points. Wine Enthusiasts 91 points.

Peaking now and will continue to drink nicely in the next 5 years.

Will pair nicely with BBQ Meats.

A blend of 65% Cabernet Franc and 35% Merlot. Unfiltered.

15% alcohol by volume.

91 points.

$70.

Bone Rock James Berry Vineyard Syrah Grenache 2004

This one doesn’t quite rise to the level Justin hit in 2007 - but it’s pretty impressive, especially given that it’s 19 years old. — 4 months ago
