Best of the best, as in red of the barossa. @Hentleyfarm Dear Napa, you got nothin’ on this. But don’t mess with the Beauty, 50 m up the hill from this grape and she is as mellow as a nun on prozac — 4 years ago
Quite surprised by how good this is. Not sure about eggs vixen as a concept for marketing these days, but anyway onto the wine.
Lovely nose. Really heady. And smooth as can be. I like it a lot. — 5 years ago
For me, Dan's wines were the wines of the day. We still have to go back and taste at Hentley Farm. We never got out of the cellar barrel tasting the 16's and some of the 17's just put into tank before having to leave for our next appointment. Dan is very old school in his wine making. He grew up on a farm and never went oenology school but became a chemical engineer. You would never know it after tasting his wines. Although, he was the Winemaker at Torbreck for 8 years prior to starting his own project in 99. They are big, rich and lush and hard not to drink when there this fresh. Stunning across the palate. If you've said, ahhh Shiraz is just too...whatever. Don't say again until after you try Dan's wines. They'll hold there own with the best of anything anywhere. Mixed wild berries, every blue fruit with just the right amount of spice. Rich, bold and everything you want out of a great bottle of wine. — 7 years ago

Wonderful balance, powerful nose and palate, showing lovely aromatics and complexity.
Black cherries, charred oak, truffled salami, peppery beefy BBQ-notes, coffeebeans.
Ready to drink now - the dark fruit is slowly giving way to complex nuances of spicebox - but nowhere near fading or drying out yet. — a month ago
