Les Peyrouses Viognier Blend 2018

Delicious viognier blend from the Rhône. Still young but a nice mix with some Thanksgivingy appetizers with butternut squash, walnuts, bacon, and Brussels sprouts. Strong mouth feel, minerality and good finish. — 4 days ago

K' Sa Tête Vin de France Pineau d'Aunis 2018

LOVE. Loire might be my favourite French region.

Some green pepper on the nose. Dangerously drinkable. Food friendly. Went well with spiced ground beef and rice, but this red would be a good companion for red or white meat, Indian dishes, or on its own.

Nouvelle Les Rieux Cornas Syrah 2015

Drinking well that is showing lots of depth & purity with an ethereal nose of black cherry, raspberry, crushed rock, mineral, iron, olive, lavender & violets. I would decant as it threw off a lot of sediment. — 2 months ago

Cornas Syrah 2017

Lyle Fass
9.6

This is magnificent. Superb nose. Expansive and refined. Floral, herbal, granite, black fruits. Exuberant spice and man that granite. Elite aromas. Soupy dense fruit. A sense of deepness. So good. This is all Chaillot which really shows. The palate is awesome. Young but so refined and massive granitic tannins and massive fruit soak. Young purpley fruit. This is the Mouton-Rothschild of Cornas. The nose is ridiculous after 10 minutes. So detailed and deep. What a palate. This needs 10 years but is so impressive. After 45 minutes 9.5 to 9.6. Best young Gilles ever. — a month ago
