Patz & Hall

Hyde Vineyard Chardonnay 2016

Older and a bit past its peak but still delicious. Patz & Hall no longer sources from the Hudson vineyard so this was great to revisit. — 7 days ago

Nice, but I detect this this is on it’s downward swing. Roasted pineapple combines with lychees. soft acidity and baking spices complete a nice presentation. probably better 2 years prior. — 2 months ago

@John Van Trijp, yes, I was a little surprised, too. Having said that, I’ve had very few underperforming bottles from Aubert.

@LM Segal, in general, U.S. whites or reds rarely posses the longevity of their Burgundy counterparts. I have a number of old Cali whites which I will road-test for S and G’s.

Red Shoulder Ranch Chardonnay 2021

Medium gold color. Aromas of lemon, peach and vanilla/oak. Not too oaky on this one- very good balance, citrus and stone fruit on the palate. — 2 months ago
