Les Clos Chablis Grand Cru Chardonnay 2019

Delectable Wine
9.5

The 2019 Chablis Les Clos Grand Cru has an effervescent bouquet with orange zest and almond scents. Seaspray touches come through with aeration. The palate is well balanced with a pleasant sour lemon twist on the entry, relatively fresh and tensile with a brisk, quite peppery, lemony finish that lingers in the mouth. Superb. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting. (Neal Martin, Vinous, December 2023)

Benoit Moreau

Fairendes Chassagne Montrachet 1er Cru 2020

Separating from Domaine Bernard Moreau, Benoit is now making his own wines and 2020 Fairendes continues to be plenty open and giving and quite classic in profile showing both richness and definition. Going to age beautifully. — a month ago

Fourchaume Chablis 1er Cru Chardonnay

A pleasant, zesty, slightly sweet Chablis. The wine paired quite well with my cracked crab and chowder! — 2 months ago

Chassagne-Montrachet Chardonnay 2017

Brief notes. Good acid, a little sulphidic funk - light to medium weight palate. Quite lean, more grapefruit than stone fruit. A faint oak influence. A saline note amongst the minerality. 2017 not a bad year for white Burgundy. — 4 months ago
