Brut Champagne Blend 2012

#AgedWineTuesday

Pale lemon in color.

Light nose of citrus fruits, minerals and light yeast.

Medium-bodied with high acidity.

Dry on the palate with limes, grapefruits, green apples, brioche, earth, light yeast, minerals, spices and herbs.

Long finish with limes and herbs.

This is a very tasty Champagne, albeit still young. Elegant and rich with nice complexity. Crisp and refreshing.

Didn't love it right out of the bottle, and needed 45 minutes of airtime to open up properly, so be patient.

I've had a few different vintages of this Champagne, and always enjoyed it.

Needs 5 years to mature properly, and will continue to age nicely in the next 15 years.

A blend of 51% Chardonnay and 49% Pinot Noir. Aged for 8 years on its lees.

12.5% alcohol by volume.

92 points.

P2 Brut Champagne Blend 2004

Wow. Both fruit and brioche working together in the best way.. At 20 years, still a mere babe. Thanks to 67 Pall Mal for offering this by the glass. I have 12 bottles in home storage and might have to start working them through the rotation. — a month ago

HURRICANE PARTY

Pale salmon in color.

Light nose of citrus, strawberries, earth, light herbs and minerals.

Medium plus in body with medium plus acidity and small bubbles.

Dry on the palate with raspberries, light cherries, limes, green apples, light grapefruits, minerals and herbs.

Long finish with limes and light almonds.

This is a delicious Rosé Champagne. Nicely balanced with a nice mouthfeel.

This 16 year old is showing nice complexity at this point. Feels still young and very fresh. Will continue to age nicely in the next 10 years.

I've had this vintage a few times before, and it is very consistent.

A delicious Champagne that’s perfect for sipping on its own. Will also pair nicely with fresh seafood.

12.5% alcohol by volume.

92 points.

Du Cropio (Giuseppe Ippolito)

Dom Giuvà Du Cropio Cirò Rosso Classico Superiore Gaglioppo

Starts right off with black cherries, apricots, and currants. The acidity builds layered with smoke, anise, and fig. There is yet a sweet undertone with a thicker feel throughout a dry finish. — 3 months ago
