Pop and pour yesterday, notes from 24 hrs open, unrefrigerated on the counter. Sweet, sweet burgundian perfume: vosne spice, pomegranate, wild strawberry, soft herbal notes...On the palate: fantastic acidity, lovely density; more pomegranate, soft grapeseed notes, still very primary, but soft tannin on the delicate finish...Stunning. — 8 days ago
If you’re in the mood for bubbles, there are so many delicious options! 🥂 🍾
This beautiful sparkling wine comes from Franciacorta, DOCG – a region in Lombary, Italy (Northern Italy). 🇮🇹
It’s comprised of 90% Chardonnay and 10% Pinot Nero (Pinot Noir) and is made using a method like in Champagne, France (with a second fermentation in the bottle) – the Metodo Classico – also undergoing at least 24 months aging sur lie. This time sur lie adds complexity and richness to the wine. 👏👏👏👏
👁 This wine is medium lemon with a soft and delicate mousse.
👃 On the nose this wine has youthful aromas with notes of apple, pear, lemon zest, dried citrus blossom, toasted rice, brioche, bread dough, yeast, and blanched almond. 🍏 🍐 🍋 🥖
👄 On the palate this wine is dry. It has medium(+) acidity, a medium body, medium alcohol, and medium intensity in aromas consistent with the nose.
This wine is elegant and has great balance, complexity, and richness. ☺️👍👍👍👍

So, the owner of K&L Wine Merchants - Clyde Beffa has made a living finding good 1997 Bordeaux’s after the fact in a difficult vintage. It is these kinds of buys ($17.99) that have keep me from opening other more prestigious wines too early in my early years of collecting. He still bats 1000.
If you always open your wines too early, let this be an opportunity to try wines on their longer evolution. You won’t be sorry.
Snap peas & zucchini from the garden this week.
Excellent with the rib covers steak.
You simply cannot equate a 9.1 24 years old Bordeaux to a 9.1 Bordeaux to a young one. The complexity, integration & nuances take precedent. Not a fair race. — 3 hours ago
Excellent. Great nose and surprisingly earthy finish that kept me coming back for more. Paired with pizza and spaghetti. — a month ago
A blend of the best Petit Verdot and Touriga Nacional grapes of the domaine, that were aged in French oak for 24 m.
The wine has an enchanting smooth an inviting nose with tempting notes of vanilla, levander, red berries, black currents, and a touch of spice.
The body is full, balanced , smooth , elegant and delicious with lovely fruit, smooth round tannins and balanced acidity. The finish is long, smooth and lightly dry.
Overall a delicious wine, a touch polished and lightly flattering which guarantee a lot of fans.
My score 90+, drink to 2025

My wine is a Napa County which is different from the 12’s & 13’s rated here but there isn’t a Napa County listing yet. They are VERY slow when you submit something for review. Nice wine for the price point. Should have bought 12 @ $20 instead of 6 @ $24 — 13 hours ago
Deep Ruby with aromas of ripe red/black fruits with herbs, toast and sweet spice, aged for 24 months in American oak. On the palate flavors of ripe black cherry flavors with vanilla, oak and cacao notes, nice acidity balance with soft ripe tannins. Long finish ending with subtle fruit, tobacco, vanilla and toasty oak, drinking very well now! Still has room to age, but I think it’s great now. — 20 days ago
