Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of dinner. The 2021 Riserva pours a garnet color with a transparent core; medium+ viscosity with light staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of Morello cherry, red flowers, old wood, dried green herbs and gravelly earth. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose, the finish is medium+. A young, taught Monsanto CCR and I believe this will open with some more time on its side. Drink now if you must but better after 2031 and through 2046. — 12 days ago

This ages so well. A balance of mature and fresh: cigars, tomato leaf, eggplant (first time I think I ever said that!), cassis.
Finely structured tannins, the acids have mellowed a little but still very present.

Wow, a beautifully aging wine, nose clearly showed age with some tobacco, dried fruits, and a hint of a lizard’s cherry! Surprisingly youthful & vigorous for this age.
Dried cherries on the nose with some tobacco, turned earth, tomato leaf, a bit of leather & a touch of black tea. Enticing, complex, fresh.
On the palate this showed some energy! The tannins polished, smooth but still with quite a grip, the acidity shining, the fruit slowly fading but still there. Brilliant length and character. — 2 months ago

Dark ruby/ purple in color with a reddish rim.

Fruity nose of black fruits with cedar, chocolates, spices, herbs and light earth.

Full-bodied with medium acidity.

Dry on the palate and very fruity with blackberries, black currants, plums, cooked cherries, cedar, toast, light vanilla, dark chocolates, tobacco, herbs, spices, light earth, black tea and peppercorn.

Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.

This is a delicious 8 year old Cabernet based blend from Napa Valley. Fruit forward with nice complexity. Showing a soft mouthfeel, elegant and rich.

Good right out of the bottle, and better with some air time.

Drinking at its peak now, and will continue to drink nicely in the next 5 years.

Good by itself as a sipping wine, or with food.

A blend of 73% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot and 12% Sangiovese. Aged in (90% new) French Oak barrels for 20 months.
