Opened up this beauty to celebrate my 34th wedding anniversary tonight. This was a gift from my wife to salve my wait to reach allocation. Decanted this a few hours before dinner and had this with pork shoulder. I am enchanted. Justin Smith and team are quite simply making magic there. This GSM has all the qualities that one expects from a Rhone blend...except taken to another place. What maybe surprised me was a mid palette taste of fig as the flavors rolled through from beginning to outstanding end. That and the underlying aroma of leather bound books. Thought that I was in the library of my youth and all those wonderful memories came rushing back. Everything about this wine was amazing. Alchemists they are! Hated to reach the last drop. — 18 days ago
White peach, lots of blooming flowers, light fresh herbs, and a mix of lemon and grapefruit hit on the nose and continued on the palate. The wine’s texture was light, but round in the middle, following through to a crisp finish accented by light minerality and bright acidity.

Magnum. 2020 thanksgiving. Nuff said. The perfect salve. — 15 hours ago
My husband and I love the old world style of fermentation, creating a barn style of wine...tobacco,cassis and leather...there is an elegance to this style of red blend. I have no idea the actual grape varietal but do think there is some Sangiovese in this bottle of French wine. I wish I had grabbed the one other bottle on the shelf now. Sad. — a month ago

2015 vintage. This big 101 ha estate is considered one of the oldest in Bordeaux with vines planted in the 14th century. It's owned by the Castel family since 1971. A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Beautiful nose with cassis, blueberries and cedar wood. While the mouth doesn't quite live up to the nose, this is a classic Haut-Médoc with good purity, fresh acidity and well-integrated tannin that opens up nicely in the glass and that should age well. Could do with a bit more body but good value at 12,90 euro. Decanting recommended if you drink it now. Abv. 13%. — 2 months ago
