Moone Tsai tasting on our Nashville getaway. Started with the Chardonnay. Using our metal travel glasses, so there is no notes on color. The nose gives me an initial impression of the salinity of an ocean breeze over sea water. I also get pineapple on the nose. Mouthfeel is full-bodied. This wine is complex with hints of oak and a notes of creamy bananas foster. This is one of the best Chardonnay’s I’ve had. So much going on. — 14 days ago
Very tasty. Gold, medium weight. Restraint. Bright Flinty Mineral. Zero butter. A tiny bit of toast on the finish. A little bound up upon opening. Gets really nice about an hour in. Vineyard is in Anderson Valley. Wells Guthrie is a very talented winemaker. Pretty sure this was his last vintage at Copain. — 2 days ago
Was impressed by the 18’, and this 19’ is quite nice as well. Green apple, lemon curd, honeysuckle, jasmine, and hint of wet hays. Vivid acidity and good texture. Finish has a nice saline touch.
The price for 19’ has gone up to $25, still a tremendous price for a single vineyard bottling from Carneros. — 10 days ago
Very nice presentation.
Layered, sweet and textured. Finishes with a hint of tomato (per my wife), but I loved it. Lithe and somewhat viscous, this has another 3 - 5 years of runway ahead of it. Drink these now for maximum enjoyment. — 14 days ago
This is a delicious Chardonnay from Napa Valley.
This three-year-old needed a lot of time to open up properly. I opened it yesterday, and I did not like the nose at all. So I put the cork back, and kept it in the fridge overnight. What a wonderful difference.
Medium plus in body with medium plus acidity. Crisp and refreshing.
Showing citrus, lemons, apples, pears, tropical fruits, guava, lychee, black pepper, spices and light oak.
Nicely balanced with a fresh mouthfeel.
Will continue to age nicely in the next 10 years.
Easy drinking and good by itself or with food.
I paired it with a charcuterie board of meats and cheeses.
92 points.
14.1% alcohol by volume.
$35. — 17 days ago

Absolutely an amazing wine! Thank you @Ron R for recommending this! I am experiencing so many elements at the same time. Reminisce of an aged Chenin Blanc where you get creaminess almost wax cheese rind and honey. Picking up an almond sticky bun. Not really acidity but unique freshness of lemon, peaches & yellow apples. Golden hay in color, Med+ body w/ nice long finish. Drinking this w/ a nice chill presents some nice acidity.
Hard not to make a comparison (sigh) to something I paid a lot more for and enjoyed...not so much! Love the balance and 13.5 alc. — 3 days ago
