Thanksgiving dinner in BK, first time ever without the full fam. Bought this at a wine shop in Providence about 18 months ago. 5 years of age has really done this wine well. Gave it a couple hours of air, needs decant (lotsa sediment) Nose: Serrano ham & cranberry, waxy cinnamon candies. Palette: herbaceous, savory & meaty with pleasant tartness. Shrubby woody greenness. Great modern red from Chile! Second bottle from the wine club at Olmstead, BK. Serve it on the cooler side. Affinities to Jura or the Pacific US Northwest. Slightly effervescent, mineral, wild, herbal and SMOKED. Had it with filet mignon and shiitake mushrooms in red wine sauce, and arugula salad with pears, goat cheese and toasted walnuts. — 8 months ago
