@Delectable Wine : This is the Purrington Rued vineyard Chardonnay. I didn’t see it in the database.
One of the wines I opened for my annual WWC hosting.
The first release of this vineyard from Addax. My experience with Purrington Rued has mainly been with Rivers Marie and Chateau Boswell. The clone is known for being extremely floral and slightly tropical…the floral notes dominated here. As the wines were poured blind for guests, a few noted it smelled of viogner but tasted like Sonoma Chardonnay, which I agree with. Honeysuckle, chamomile, white peach and small hints of baking spices aromatically. On the palate, it sported a medium bodied profile with some sweet lemon cream, more honeysuckle, and tropical fruits (not overly ripe though). Very pretty.
Not delicate, but certainly a somewhat restrained style for Russell Bevan, and one I really enjoyed. — 2 months ago
Haven’t had a Bevan PN in quite awhile. Drinking wonderful tonight. Really enjoyed this one. — 9 days ago

Richest beast of a Bevan I’ve ever tried. Glorious, powerful nose of dark earth and blackberry compote. Syrah-like. Tooth-staining and viscous this was a bounty of dark black and red fruit, sweet tobacco notes and black olive tapenade. Fine but firm tannins round this out. Strongly suggest waiting this out several years as it feels like it will be even better when more resolved, though a treat today after an hour of air. — 3 months ago
Nose presents blueberries and cherries. Palate is weighty, sweet and opulent, but lacks linearity. Good acid profile suggests you can hang onto these for a short while and see if the contents congeal.
Based on what I paid, no complaints. — 3 months ago
