Soft and crisp but gently sweet — 2 days ago
Sepia filter courtesy of smoke filled skies here in Oakland. If the end of the world is coming we better get drinking. Let’s start with some regal Chasselas. Six years in the bottle this is starting to pick up some weight with hints of butterscotch on top of the lemongrass and citrus pith notes you’d expect from this stony little white. Quite delicious. — 11 days ago
One of my favorite roussane.
Nose is dense and complex. Orange peel. A hint of peat.
Palate is rich but elegantly so. Not over the top like much northern rhone roussane. Very very precise without a hint of blowsiness. Just killer precise linear tropical fruit.
As for the vintage ? True artistes do not stoop to arithmetics.

2012 Medium dark color with a spectacular dried fruit nose with a medium well balanced somewhat acidic complex body and a long complex aftertaste. Tasted with a 2009 Vrignaud Fourchaume, which was lovely, this wine seems older and more complex. Lovely wine that rates 4.5. — 11 days ago
Such a nice wine for a weeknight dinner. Nose has loads of juicy crunchy plum fruit on the nose, with a whiff of violets. In the mouth, there’s an intense saline minerality, light fruit, and a weightless mouthfeel. There’s a nice bitter note at the end — 12 days ago
Nose of intense alpine minerality. White flowers. Custard. Hint of medicinal quality. More like an apothecary. Not bad medicinal if that is not clear. Clean and way batter than my last bottle’s aromas. Palate is juicy and clean, long and tense. Really long. Terrific elegance and purity. Nice spice. Balanced and very pure. Exotic tropical fruits. @Delectable Wine this is roussanne not Jacquere. — 12 days ago
Wow. A great example of what it is.
Nose is mountain flowers with a kiss of mountain flower honey. The honey is not really perceptible. It adds depth. So fresh. As this opens the floral ty is just gorgeous.
Palate is gorgeous. Perfect balance. Fruit is like liquid flowers almost. Fruity but I can’t place the fruit. Quince? Like really well made 1e cru Chablis but mountainy. Very delicious but so pure. Julie Andrews in sound of music. A hint of minerality.
If this had more palate complexity it would rush into the elite category. For a “simple wine” this is as good as it gets.
Amazing change of pace wine.
