Batch 40. A little thinner than earlier batches. Delightfully complex nose -- even has some cocoa notes. Strong initial burn that fades into a long finish.
Minor flaws: a sulfur note, maybe from the cognac barrel. Also the sharp heat is a bit more than expected for the 6y+ blend. — a month ago
Disgorged in 2014, aged 6y on the lees. Great depth and finesse, a brilliant wine. — 4 years ago
Words can’t describe my love affair with this wine. My 6y describes it as “lemony. The sun, a treasure, smells like gold”. It’s hard for me to argue with him. Silky ripe lemon with a heavy mineral chalk component on the front palate. I wish it lasted a little longer in the finish but still soft and expressive. Out of magnum second day. — 4 months ago
Orange marmalade, red berries & cinnamon. Such much life at 6y/o! — 2 years ago
