Beaune premier cru - montée rouge. 2012. Pinot noir.
Nose of sour cherry, a touch of oak, and another touch that I can't quite describe (turpentine?). The palate is yummy. Cherry, long acid frame, this wine goes a long way. The tannins are lively but not unfriendly and meld quite well with the acidness and fruitiness of the palate. Love it — 21 hours ago
Oaky toasty nose with some discreet currant and black currant traces on the nose. Ample palate with almost a milky touch. The tannins are very welcoming and the wine goes a long way. Vanilla, red berries, leather, tobacco. Pleasant wine but I wouldn't have put it in Spain at all if I had tasted it blind — 8 days ago
Blackcurrant and oak on the nose. A slight earthiness, some warmth and a mushroom touch. Nice acid frame on the palate which makes the wine goes rather longer than wider. Black currant, pepper, lively tannins. Let's come back to it in a year or two. Very much young right now — 2 days ago
Double magnum. Nose of strawberry jam and smoke and currant. Superb palate of strawberry and well integrated tannins and a long acid frame. This is why bigger bottles are the best. Wines are aging so much better in them. Way above their league. — 8 days ago
Nose of blackcurrant. Velvety palate with red and black berries and quiet tannins. Not so long finish. Easy going organic right bank. — 9 days ago
