Sunday night treat. And what a treat! Huge wine. The nose is very precise and straight on the mineral side : oyster shell, chalk and hay. There is a bit of lemon too and it's not chablis like neither because there is a salty thing going on. The palate is a model of balance. Very precise too. A monstrous acid backbone that goes for ever. Lemony touches on the side with a depth, a width like I rarely came across. Layers and layers of texture : a good grip on the side, some matter and fruit along the acid backbone, an everlasting finish with fruity and mineral things dancing along, a salty note comes up in the end. The final notes linger for a very long while and leave a very fresh and digestive impression. Wow this is great — 4 days ago
I'll pass on the nose because the olfactive functions are currently out of order. The palate is marked with surah with some blackberry and pepper. There is more to it though, with some red berries and a thickness and a grip that are not really consistent with the syrah wine I know. Some oak in there too. It is very persistent with oaky notes, a bit of a salty touch and blackberry. An inexpensive wine that delivers quite some value — 6 days ago
Second take on this vintage, a couple of months after. I gave it some more air before tasting and it made a real difference. Now it is a fruit bomb with texture!
Cherry party on the nose with a hint of iron, earth and still a cola, bubble gum thing that I find only in this one. The palate is full and wide. Big acid backbone, cherry and cherry jam even everywhere, some good grip, a little grip toward the end, and a very long expending finish with fruits. What a delish... — 5 days ago
Peach, elderflower, petrol a bit, very nice, inviting nose. The palate is acid driven with a bright fruit all along and some width and matter and grip on the sides. The finish is rather long and fresh with elderflower notes. Very good sip. More of that! — 5 days ago
Honey, wax, white juicy pear and a bit of reduction. The palate is a masterpiece with a strong acid backbone and a silky matter on the side with a bright fruit (white fruits). There is spice in there too. The finish is extremely long and expanding with some bitterness coming up in the end. Some white pepper here and there. What a Sunday night treat! — 11 days ago
The nose is exotic fruits and lemon plus the chalky, crushed oyster usual stuff in chablis. From the nose you can tell it's Chablis premier cru and you know you are in for a ride. The palate is a model of balance with a nice and strong acid backbone showing off against a bright exotic fruit (pineapple and mango). A real presence in mouth with some width a soft touch on the sides. The mineral, chalky thing is there in the mouthfeel too that screams chablis all around. The finish is rather quick with lemon and pineapple and a chalky thread that makes of a fresh, delicious after taste. Good stuff, delivering right what it should be — 5 days ago
The nose was a bit oxydized at first and I was afraid the wine was lost but it took off after a while. The nose is very strong on honey, apricot and brioche. The palate was very acid driven with a nice fatty, thick touch on the side and a real grip on the rear before and everlasting finish with honey. The wine screams botrytis but with a more agressive, more intense and maybe a tad less noble form than its sauternes and likes counterparts. I like its wild style. — 5 days ago
Mineral nose with pencil lead and a bit of nail polish too (even if that's not really mineral). A bright cherry lingers underneath. The palate is full pinot noir expression with lots of acids, a bright fruit, some tannins in the rear, a good granular texture with some kind of veil, and this fresh cherry all along and continuing very long in the finish. Some bitterness to on the rear. Very nice yet simple expression of pinot noir — 8 days ago
The nose is very mineral : chalk, crushed rocks, oyster shell. A bit of an herbal and lemon touch too. The palate is acid driven, with a great grip, some nice lemon all around, a bit of width, a very long finish with lemon notes and chalky touches. This is so good — 13 days ago
