20 years old and no sign of aging! Superb nose of mocha and cherry and hay. Full palate with a strong acid backbone, a velvety texture and fruits for a very wide and long expression. It is both vertical and horizontal with different layers of textures and tastes that blend together perfectly. Very long lasting finish with salt, a bitter touch and currant. Splendid wine! — 4 days ago
Domaine vocoret et fils- chablis 2015.
Textbook chablis village : crushed rocks, hay and lemon on the nose. Good grip on the palate with a little fruit and lots of acids. Fine fresh finish with lemon. Doesn't disappoint yet not overly delivering. — 4 days ago
Nose of blackberry, game meat and garrigue. Lovely and pretty masculine. The palate is huge with and acid backbone that drives it very far, a lively blackberry fruit dancing around with meaty, salty touches. The whole thing is very precise and balanced. Everlasting finish with black Forrest fruits and an olive, salty note. Love it — 6 days ago
Black currant and oak on the nose. Not very powerful. The palate is rather vertical than horizontal which is a bit surprising considering the vintage. Currant along the acid backbone but no big tannins and very little structure. Blind I would have guessed a cru bourgeois from listrac rather than a second cru classé from Margaux. The finish is rather nice with currant and a touch of bitterness. Good not great and playing way above its league. Kind of disappointing — 4 days ago
Domaine Bergeron - juliénas 2016
Nose of sour cherry and earth. Not particularly complex but a plain juicy ripe fruit. The palate is splendid with a radiant ripe sour cherry along a strong acid backbone for a perfect balance. Some grip in mid palate to give it some more interest and a finish with the same ripe fruit and a pinch of salt. Textbook lovable Beaujolais. It came after guigal's côte rôtie and looked it in the eyes without backing down. Wow! — 6 days ago
