A nose of blackberries, black currants, meat, leather, a touch of vanilla. Some alcohol on the nose too (the wine is at 14%). The palate is well balanced and the finish is long and lovely, expending seconds after seconds. Soft tannins, a touch of chocolate, of black berries, a nice acid frame. A salty touch that recalls the meat on the nose. A nice wine to be enjoyed with a meal (grilled red meat or a red meat wine stew) — 20 days ago
Past its peak or oxydized a bit I don't know. I bought it on an auction website and I'm not sure whether it was stored properly before. Nose shows slight signs of oxydation (wax, bad sour apple). The palate is on white fruits and shows once again signs of oxydation. The structure and touch are still here. This must have been a great great wine 5-6 years ago. Now it's just wine. It tastes and smells like nothing that I know. A nose with multiple touches : olive, dry cooking herbs, strawberry, something of a salty smoked meat. The palate is very easy going and remind me of a burgundy in the structure. Soft silky tannins, a long wine with a touch of salt, a nice bitterness in the end. Strawberry again, some spices. This wine is a bit surprising because it has nothing to do with what I know from this region. But it is wonderfully done and is a bit contemplative, intellectual: you have to taste with your senses and with your knowledge and you need to think about it — 13 days ago
Nice red fruits nose, pepper and a hint of vanilla. The palate is ample, wide and bright. Red fruits, smooth tannins and a touch of acidity that makes it not too heavy. A surprisingly good wine actually ! — a month ago
