Cherry, vanilla, raspberry, a bit of barnyard too. The palate is mainly driven by the acid backbone. Harsh tannins that will need some time.m to settle. Good grip and sour cherry on the sides. Rather quick fruity finish. Intersting take on tempranillo but needs time. — 2 days ago
Blood orange, blackberry, black currant and some warmth on the nose. The palate is rather vertical than horizontal with nice red fruits touches and pointy tannins. Some grip too, and somehow a soft touch that calls for another glass. Finish with a fruity notes. Good one — 10 days ago
The nose is *very* powerful : small red berries, tea leaves, caramel and vanilla. A hinch of raspberry too. A bit of warmth as well, and a bit of plum too. Very strong. The palate is powerful too. It starts with a very acid slide that goes down for ever, small red berries all along, layers of complexity : caramel here, soft silky touches there on the sides, franc tannins in the end and a blast of a finish with plum and small red berries dancing in a firework with a nice bitterness and a soft touch that never ends. After yesterday's amarone I wanted some more. This one is more muscular, yesterday's was more subtile and gracious.
Not cheap though, around 45€ — 16 days ago
Assyrtiko is slowly turning into my favorite white varietal and Assyrtiko from Santorini will soon be my new Chablis...
Nose of pear, honey, lemon curd and a huge mineral note of chalk. The palate is intense with a strong acid backbone along which lemon plays a subtle part. A strong grip, some chalky notes here and there too. The finish is wide and long with this curdy, chalky music that plays for a very long while. Need more of that, now! — 9 days ago
Baby amarone. Could have been better after a some. Air. Red berries, raisins, chocolate too. Nice nose. The palate is powerful, almost semi dry. Some tannins. Some nice layers of texture. An expending finish with red berries and raisins too. Very cool once again. I could have this every week — 10 days ago
A bit of a barnyard, sewing touch at first. But then we get a nice small red berries scent and yeast, and bread, and black pepper. Nice nose. The palate is almost half dry. A splendid red berries patern all over the place, some huge acid backbone, not so much complexity but it goes still a long way past pointy tannins. A. Finish with small red berries which linger for a long time. This is really enjoyable. — 16 days ago
Very easy going syrah. Blackberry and licorice on the nose, a bit of meat juice too. The palate is pretty straight forward with a strong acid backbone and some blackberry notes all around it. Some grip, young and playful tanins, and a finish with blackberry. Easy, simple syrah expression. — 9 days ago
Wow. Nice coffee, chocolate and black currant nose. Some oak here too. Powerful and balanced. The palate is powerful and balanced too. Strong acid backbone, currant, nice silky touch around a very wide palate, chocolate and coffee all around too. Strong muscular tannins before a finish with black currant, meaty, salty juice and chocolate. Wow what a wine — 10 days ago
Way too sweet for my taste. It is semi dry so I had been warned 😏
Barnyard funk along blackberries and strawberries on the nose. Some warmth too. The palate is composed of a strong acid backbone and a bright fruit. Some sugar too on the sides as a layer that emcompasses the whole palate. Finish with fruits and sugar. Not unbearable but far from what I expect. — 15 days ago
