So satisfying and it’s only getting better. Probably the best Merlot I’ve drank in terms of QPR.

Chateau Ste. Michelle

Columbia Valley Riesling 2022

This wine has barely any color at all, just a very faint yellow-green tint. The nose is nice. There is a slight trace of petrol, which I always love to find in a Riesling. More dominant is a lanolin note which joins a light floral aroma. The palate straddles the fence between dry and sweet, offering up some tasty stone fruit and a savory side marked by gentle spices and a workable acidity. I would like a drier wine better, but I drank this quaff gladly and poured another. — a month ago

Indian Wells Contemporary Winemaking Series Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2020

High alcohol and earthy on the nose. Big up front with Silky finish. Blueberry or blackberry. Medium to high tannins. Let it breathe a bit. — a month ago

Domaine Font de Michelle

Châteauneuf-du-Pape Red Rhone Blend 2016

Nose has deep blackberry fruit and a bit of garrigue-y earthy notes, a little iodine. Deeply rich in the mouth. The fruit has a very slight pruny element but does not detract. In the finish, however, the peppery heat of the alcohol (only a stated 14.5%) makes a prominent appearance. Long. — a month ago
