Popped and poured; enjoyed over a couple of hours. The 2022 pours a garnet color with a transparent core. Medium+ viscosity with no staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is youthful with notes of pomegranate, cranberry, strawberry and raspberry compote, red flowers, and gravely minerals. On the palate, the wine is dry with high tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium and just a touch hot. Not the most memorable Langhe Nebbiolo from Produttori in the last decade or so but itβs totally authentic and still a great value. Drink now and over the next 5-10 years. β 14 days ago
Nice but not quite at the true top level, especially given the price. Decanted 4 hours which is necessary at this point. Nice pairing with a big T-bone steak cooked in the Tuscan style. Could use more acid on the finish. Probably needs a few years to come together. β 8 days ago
On nose its floral, dried tobacco, earthy, white pepper and creamy as well.
On palate, its blackberries, plums, wine is full bodied, medium+ acidity, tannic, too young but shows quality from concentration and intensity. 50% Merlot and 50% Carbenet Sauvignon β 13 days ago
Another solid vintage of this consistent Tuscan Red. Blend of primary Sangiovese with some Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot blended in. Medium ruby red color. Aromas of red and black berry/currant fruit with hints of coffee and meat. The palate shows plum, cherry and strawberry fruit flavors with additional notes of tobacco, menthol, iron and spices. Very earthy and crisp finish that includes a touch of vanilla. Nice complexity and balance. Great Lead-off wine, Keith S! β 21 days ago
2010 a strong vintage & still accending. Costco Ribcap vs Allen Brothers.
Sofia & I stayed in downtown Alba in 2015. Arrived early evening & sadly after their big wine festival. Pio Cesare was around the corner and down two blocks from our hotel. Historic as hell.
I bought this at Costco for around $49.
Nebbiolo young is a huge tarry grape. The Italianβs ferment this with a lot of new wood. They actually hold Nebbiolo/Barolo in bottle and extra year or more before release. Also, longer than most other world regions based largely on the grape & even more their wood use.
This is drinking nicely after a four hour decant, but it is still ascending and another 10-15 years of good drinking aheadβ¦properly stored.
Even with this age, its tarriness is the first descriptor. Followed by heated dark spices, slightly, dry b lackberries, dry, slight tart, dark cherries, black raspberries, black plum, some strawberries, tea leaves, black licorice to anise, sandstone, limestone, dry crushed rocks, dry top soil & brush, dry herbs, dry tobacco, light; clove, nutmeg & hints of vanillin, forest floor w/ dry leaves, some mint, dry, withering, dark, red flowers framed in violets, excellent acidity with a nicely evolved, well; structured, tensioned, balanced, smartly polished finished that goes on & on! β 2 days ago
Second bottle from this vintage that I have enjoyed but this one I purchased from a local wine shop. Opened very nicely after 2.5 hours and enjoyed over 5 hours. Cherry notes were bursting through but mature and deep. Blended wonderfully with the earthiness. This wine is still a baby and think I will do my best to sit on my remaining 2008s for at least 5 more years. β 21 hours ago

Medium ruby in color; blackberries, black cherries, and graphite on the nose; medium acidity; medium tannins; tastes like red plums, violets, and dried herbs with a long finish. This is my kind of wine. β a month ago
