Notes of Liquorice and Dried florals like Lavender with Dark Chocolate chiming in. On the medium weight palate dried fruit with the bitterness of dark chocolate which is a good thing. A lovely mature Barossa Shiraz which was amazingly only about $20 when it was released - from a good vintage. At this age the true quality of Penfolds Reds reveal themselves. I think any Bin Numbered Wine can go 15+ years in a good vintage and with Grange you should start to taste the first one at 10 to 15 years.

Notes of liquorice and dark chocolate. Still medium weight and "Penfolds" on palate. Consensus says will live to 2020. Very good
17.5- Had another bottle on 14th August 2016. All of the mature ripe Shiraz descriptors but becoming a little porty. Still drinking well at 18 years.

Classic Penfolds Kalimna. Aged beautifully, chocolate and dark spices. Brick red tinged with brown, decanted and drunk over 4 hours. Can’t fault Penfolds for age worthy wines, really enjoyed it

Much better showing than the last bottle I opened. Color was beautiful purple red with little signs of bricking from age. Nose very North Rhone in style with deep dark fruit, black olive, meaty peppery notes and just a hint of vanilla from the oak. The palette was dense and full of dark fruit with the oak just a little more reinforced. This was much better then I expected given the last bottle. An overall great expression here.
